Truffle hunting has come to FarmVille! Build a pigpen for your pigs. Make slop for your pigs to eat before they go hunting. Find different colored truffles, share them with your neighbors and trade them in for new pigs!

Get the popup
Step 1 Go inside your pigpen
How does this work?
Step 2 Make Slop
You can also collect slop on your feed from others. Find slop to share when you harvest your pig pen daily. 4 neighbors will be able to collect Slop.
When you get slop off the feed, you can share some back and it will go to that person's wall.
Find your slop in your gift box, click use and it will be added to your pigpen
Step 3 Click on a pig and select hunt
They'll dig a bit
and you'll get another popup
Step 4 Share truffles
***Make sure you enable all your Farmville friends to post on your wall so you can get your truffles and slop!***
Click to share it and it will go to their wall to collect.
They can accept it and post it on your wall for you to get yours! Make sure you wait for the publish box to popup after you click accept and share back!
Click accept and get this. Then click yes!
When you get truffles to accept on your wall, clicking the link will give you this page:
Make SURE you click 'Yes and share Truffle back' to thank your neighbor for their hard work! If it won't post this is because they have blocked people from writing on their wall or they are no longer your friend/neighbor.
Step 5 Sleeping pigs
Now you'll have one less pig in the mud and the curtain is drawn in the sleeping area to the left.
Click it and get this note
Then you'll see which pigs are resting in there, and you can leave them there or remove them, place them on your farm, then put them back in. Sometimes they are able to hunt again!
Hunt again. Sometimes they don't find things!
Step 6 Trade in your truffles
After you accept a truffle on your wall it will go in your gift box
Click to use it and you will be able to share ONE pig with your friends!
Accept pigs from others off the feed
Put them in your pen and keep on hunting!
Step 7 Stop hunting after 20 pigs
You might want to remove the pigs that you can as those will take 2 days to sleep and you can hunt again tomorrow. So keep some on your farm to refill the pen tomorrow and try your luck for more truffles!

I 've checked my pig pen, and have not gotten the pop-up. Out of 62 FV neighbors, I've received one pig slop. Doesn't look like they are having much luck either & they go up to Level 95. Haven't seen any other posts in fact.
Really? I have 250 neighbors and had at least 15 truffles posted to my wall in the last few hours. Maybe this feature is still rolling out to users
My piglets didn't have any luck the 1st time I tried. The 2nd time though they did. The more Slop I've got in the Trough, the better luck I seem to have finding Truffles. I've only found Black & Brown so far. As well as redeemed a Strawberry Pig for a Truffle, and I think an Ossabaw Pig (I can't remember about that last one though I wasn't really paying attention-I just know suddenly I've got one & I didn't used to.) And I haven't found any White Truffles. But I've only gotten 2 pig slop requests. But that could be only because those are the only 2 people that bothered posting them. (this is for a different account-not this one.)
My piglets had 2 days to rest and it said pick one to hunt, but when I do it says sorry try again tomorrow you can only do 20 times!? But I haven't gotten to use them since the first night, Very frustra
According to the pop up I get when I click to hunt for truffles it reads, "sorry farmer you can only hunt for truffles 20 times every (TWO) days, not as it is stated above in the picture. So just for information to anyone interested, that just means that if you want to be able to hunt truffles everyday just dont use all of your pigs up at one time save how ever many you want to be able to use the next day. Myself, I use 10 each day. BTW Thank you for the information on your site.

Today I sent out a few truffles. Two gold truffles went to a person who never plays FV anymore. Then I got 2 black truffles that went to the same person! Most of the time, the truffles go to someone who is not playing but why so many to the same person on top of that? If I send out 5 truffles, I'm lucky to get back one. And that's after I've sent an email to each person asking them to look for the truffles post. I feel like pitching the pigs.
Zynga needs to change it so the truffles are immediately given to the sender. If the receiver does not claim within a certain time frame, the truffles should be returned to the sender and sent out to someone else. I have sent out truffles and followed up with emails, and gotten nothing in return, then when the person was online, I sent a chat message, she went offline, and to this day, I have gotten nothing back. I removed her from my friends list and neighbor list too. I don't think these ideas are unreasonable, and if more people went to Zynga's site and made the suggestions to them, it may well happen. They have made changes before based on what the players have requested. All we can do is try.
Does anyone know how much time do you have to collect a truffle once your friend has shared it? 'cause a friend of mine shared a white truffle less than an hour ago and I can't get & it's not the first time...
It's supposed to be 24 hours, but sometimes it's broken. Nothing we can do about it :(

I have been patient with all my truffle receivers, but this is getting ridiculous. Send out 8 and get 1 back. I sent out three to one person!! Not one back. This is totally stupid!! maybe it's time for everyone to sell the darn pigpens.

I'm wondering why I NEVER got one truffle back, and I found a lot already. All players/friends are very active in all other FV things, why does this not work. Do I need to change something in my settings? Everyone can post, is there more to do? I will get the rewards as well...
According to the new way of truffle hunting, it should be better because it only sends to active players.... well, it hasn't helped one bit. Still get very very few returned, and they still go to players that have gotten fed up and sold the pig pens. So much for an improvement. Seems nobody takes the time to be neighborly at all. why not have them automatically go to the recipient's gift box so that when they go to use them, it automatically sends one back to the person who sent it in the first place.
