Chocolates and cotten candy

I amm getting chocolates and cotton candy as gifts from my friends but when I click on the use button the game says I can't use them just yet. When do these come into play?

They come into play when you start on your Valentine's Day missions. The 1st part of the mission was to buy a pink rose stand & place your cupids castle, then you'll go to part 2 of the mission which is to collect 6 chocolates, place 4 parts in your castle & harvest 100 red tulips. So after you buy the rose stand & place your castle then you can use your chocolates. And the cotton candy will come into play after you complete those 1st three missions, then you'll get more missions & can use the cotton candy.
