Google Chrome is a completely separate browser from Firefox. You do not have to uninstall Firefox to use Chrome. If you prefer one of them then you can designate one as your default browser. 

Thanks, Toasty.  Gayle, if you would like to make Chrome your default browser, just click on the wrench icon in the upper right corner of your toolbar, then Options.   Under Basics, just click the button under Default browser. :)
